Tïesto - DJ Tiësto é o nome artístico do DJ, remixer e produtor musical holandês Tijs Verwest, nascido em Breda, em 17 de Janeiro de 1969)[1]. Tiësto já foi nomeado para o Grammy. Ele tornou-se um dos nomes mais famosos na cena mundial de trance e música electrónica. Apesar de ele ter utilizado muitos apelidos no passado, ele é mais conhecido pelo seu trabalho como DJ Tiësto. Nas suas produções mais recentes, no entanto, ele abandonou o rótulo de "DJ" e é conhecido agora como simplesmente "Tiësto", uma alcunha que deriva de seu apelido de infância.

Conforme sua popularidade cresceu no início dos anos 2000, ele tornou-se o primeiro DJ a apresentar-se para um grande público sem nenhum outro DJ ou outros actos de abertura. Ele também é notado por ser o primeiro DJ a tocar ao vivo no palco em Jogos Olímpicos na cerimónia de abertura das olimpíadas de 2004 em Atenas. Além de receber inúmeros prémios pelo seu trabalho ele foi coroado "DJ Número 1 do Mundo" 3 vezes consecutivas pela DJ Magazine de 2002 a 2004 e recebeu uma nomeação para um Grammy Award em 2008, por seu álbum Elements of Life.

Ele também realizou contribuições de caridade. Em Abril de 2006, Tiësto foi nomeado o embaixador mundial para a fundação Dance4Life, combatendo a disseminação da Sida, para a qual ele gravou a faixa "Dance4life." Em Dezembro de 2007, Tiësto e Giorgio Armani colaboraram juntos numa edição limitada de uma camisola de Tiësto disponível nas lojas Armani Exchange. O seu single "Sweet Things" inclui a camisola, com os lucros da venda beneficiando os Mercy Corps, uma ONG de acção humanitária.
